One of the UK’s leading container logistics providers, Roadways Container Logistics Limited (RCL), has reinforced its national infrastructure with the opening in 2006 of a new ‘common user’ rail facility, Birmingham Intermodal Freight terminal (BIFT).
This 25 acre multi million pound investment at Birch Coppice Business Park, situated alongside junction 10 of the M42 in North Warwickshire, represents a progressive development in the heart of the Midlands distribution area.
The terminal has been built to handle around eight daily trains between each of the major container ports.
“We chose Birch Coppice Business Park as it was already rail connected and ideally located adjacent to junction 10 of the M42 motorway. The whole Midlands area is one of the fastest growing distribution regions in the country serving imports from all over the world. This new container terminal will provide the infrastructure vital to support this area’s continued success in the coming years”.
