University of Warwick

Coventry University

Coventry UniversityCoventry University is proud of its long-standing industrial tradition, associated research activity and continues to develop a reputation for research designed to secure innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Originally focussed on the needs of major multinational automotive companies such as Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Land Rover, Ferrari and Ford, the University’s portfolio has diversified as its expertise continues to expand.

The range of activity spans almost every subject area ranging from art to design, health to sports, regeneration to human security and mathematics to engineering and computing. The University applies its expertise to tackle simple or complex problems for its partners in business, industry and commerce.

The University’s emphasis on enterprise even runs through the way it is re-shaping the campus. The University is spending £150m to provide first class facilities including a new student building called ‘The Hub’ which opens in September 2011 and a high-tech faculty building for Engineering and Computing which is due to open in September 2012.

The university is in the centre of a vibrant, multicultural city. Coventry is truly an international University with over 3000 students from almost 100 countries. It is home to over 300,000 people including a student population of 17,500. It is a city that is always reinventing itself. To compliment the University’s plans for its new campus, the City has responded by unveiling a £6 billion blueprint for a new city centre.

Further Education Colleges

In addition to the two universities in the area, Warwickshire is home to several outstanding colleges, some of which have been awarded Centre of Excellence status in key areas of expertise. Colleges in the area include Warwickshire College, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, Stratford-Upon-Avon College and King Edward VI College.

Students and Graduates

There are currently 15,969 students at the University of Warwick (full-time equivalents, FTEs), including 11,862 undergraduates, 7,949 postgraduates and 6,088 international students.
